Catriona is on the lookout for artists — painters, photographers, jewellers
— for potential collaborative work. If you are interested, please email her
at info@catrionayule.co.uk.
Catriona is currently involved in an exciting collaboration with Aberdeenshire ceramicist,
Anne Murray, to produce an exhibition and book of poetry and images based on early
20th Century folklore from North-East Scotland fishing communities. She is working
on a series of poems interlinked by common themes and inspired by the beliefs and
superstitions of fisher folk.
The initial idea was sparked off by a conversation about George Mackay Brown's poem,
A Reel of Seven Fishermen, and during the summer months they have carried
out research in their local communities involving trips to Crovie, Gardenstown,
Portsoy, Stonehaven, Montrose and Arbroath.
Anne is a designer and creator of bespoke hand-made ceramics based near Turriff.

If any of your female relatives worked in the fishing industry in the North-East
of Scotland in 1900–1920, we would love to hear from you! Please e-mail info@catrionayule.co.uk.
